Rosary Devotionals

Pope Francis requested that on December 8, 2015 the Catholic Church begin a “Year of Mercy”. He also asked that on March 4-5, 2016 a “24 Hours for the Lord” be conducted as a “Vigil to Dry Tears”. Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church in Little Rock, Arkansas was asked to conduct the 24 hour service for parishes within the area. This service consisted of 24 hours of Eucharistic Adoration with special devotional services every hour.

I was asked to conduct a rosary service which started me on a quest to prepare something that would be prayerful, educational, and meditational. I found much information available on the internet on the rosary, its history, its prayers, scripture references and reflections.  These sites ranged from the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB.org), specialty sites on the rosary, Wikipedia, Bible verses to numerous prayer sites. Using all of these for inspiration, I created a scriptural base devotional focused initially on the Sorrowful Mysteries. My hope was to support Pope Francis’ desire:

To move the hearts of all the faithful to take advantage of the Sacrament of Reconciliation this Lenten season; and to help those people who are rediscovering a path back to the Lord find meaning in their lives.

After the service, many people came to me and said they had never experienced the rosary in this way and that it really moved them. Those kind words have continued to guide me to create a similar devotional that can either be lead or prayed privately for each of the Mysteries and of the "Mighty Acts of God" (Acts 2:11).

It has been a great journey.

Acts of God

This is a collection of the "Mighty Acts of God". As with all Rosary Mysteries, There is a Title and then each of the 5 decades is named for a type of action related to the Title. Then within the devotional 10 bible verses in which this action is exemplified is used to focus the participants thoughts. The first Act created in this collection was the Merciful Acts of God.

Mysteries

This is a collection of the 4 sets of Rosary Mysteries, 3 being used for centuries and one for decades
