ABOUT
“A Conversation with God” (aka Little Rock Prayer Cards) began as an effort to share with those who had never been to the Holy Land pictures and images related to Jesus’ life. Such as "What does the Sea of Galilee look like?" and "Where was Jesus baptized?" Since I had over a thousand pictures from my trip to the Holy Land, I first attempted to organize these pictures into several cohesive presentations. They were well-attended, but were limited in appeal because they took hours of a person’s time. So there had to be a better way to share this information – to satisfy that hunger to know.

Around this same time I was studying 1st Thessalonians and I came across 5:17 - “Pray without ceasing”. I don’t know about you, but when I get stopped in my tracks I know it is God asking me to spend some time with him mulling over words or events. You should also know that one of the definitions of Prayer is “A Conversation with God”. Through this discernment, I came to understand that God wanted me to help people talk to Him throughout their day, not just on Sunday or in the morning or evening, but “without ceasing”. So He told me the WHAT and was leaving the HOW to me.

So I looked into combining the human desire for knowledge with the divine desire for conversation. The result was to use the bible verses that we hear each week in our worship with pictures and end it with special prayers written for each occasion. Since I grew up Catholic, the ideal mode was what we called “The Holy Card”. “Holy” is a great word to use when you understand that “Holy” means “Belonging to God”. These cards are 2 ¼” x 4 ½” – the perfect size to put in a purse, a wallet, a pocket and even a book. And most take less than a minute to read. The commitment required of the receiver is minimal. And unbeknownst to them, they will be having a Conversation with God.

These cards - which I began by sharing with small groups within my parish - soon turned into tools for evangelization. I began passing them out after worship on Sundays, to shut-in, at nursing home, at retirement communities, at homeless shelters and food lines. They didn’t require forcing someone to stop and listen to me, they didn’t require being in someone face, and they didn’t require a lot of talking. In the analogy of Faith where one tills the soil, one plants the seeds, one waters and one harvests – but not one does it all. I felt that the Holy Spirit wanted me to “pass out the seeds”.

Then these seeds began to grow. Some seeds created a hunger for more. I was looked for, anticipated, waited for and then asked for this week’s card. Some wanted cards to pass out to friends who saw their cards. Some became curious and asked me questions of Faith and Hope. Months passed and then came the stories of finding a card in a book or a drawer just at the time that they needed the verse or prayer the most. The Holy Spirit was working in the lives I encountered through these small slips of paper! To date there are tens of thousands of these cards tucked away in hundreds of homes, cubicles and cars just waiting for the right amount of light and water to germinate and spout.

I decided at the beginning of this Ministry not to charge for the intellectual property even though everything is copyrighted. We read in Matthew 10:8 – “Without cost you have received, without cost you are to give.” Everything within this site was given to me by the Holy Spirit. So through this site I hope to:
-
Help you have “A Conversation with God” and “Pray Without Ceasing”
-
Instruct you on how to print these cards to distribute in your communities
-
Teach you how to create new cards
Hopefully together we can pass out more seeds that will grow into beautiful Conversations with God!
